Gender And Vulnerable Group investment (GVG)  2017 - 2020

SMACI work directly with the Zamfara State COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (CSDP), in the implementation of the Gender and Vulnerable Group Component of the project. It is designed to optimally enhance the efficiency and consistency levels to ensure sustainability, transparency and accountability in micro project management and governance at all levels; SMACI assist in the process of group development plan identification and formation, implementation, management, monitoring, evaluation and sustainability of the GVGs micro projects, 2 communities of Shikafi LGA Zamfara State.

Gender And Vulnerable Group investment (GVG) is a component of Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) it is designed with the Community Driven Development (CDD) approach to support the promotion of social cohesion, social inclusion, it is also recognized as potentially capable of support human capital development and shared prosperity to the poor and vulnerable in all affected communities in the states participating in CSDP, with the  In-kind contributions which will ensure ownership and build the capacity of vulnerable groups within communities and local governments to take charge of their own development needs; SMACI work directly with the Zamfara State COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (CSDP), in the implementation of the Gender and Vulnerable Group Component of the project. This new Component, called Vulnerable Groups Support Grant (VGSG) is in furtherance of CSDP AF Project Development Objective for; Gender mainstreaming to ensure equality and equity among vulnerable groups within communities and widen participation; and Appropriate targeting to ensure that government and partners support is efficiently and effectively targeted at the poorest and most vulnerable within the communities The implementation of the VGI Component · Compile a list of micro projects that shall be eligible for support under the GVG Component · Develop mechanisms for evaluating and costing the contributions of the GVGs, IDPs and NGOs/CBOs/FBOs In-Kind Contributions; · Provide guidelines for the management of micro projects by GVGs and their Support Bodies · Compile monitoring and evaluation indicators and standards for effective monitoring of VGI performance in CSDP State Agencies The creation of a window or component within the CSDP for investment in vulnerable groups to increase access to social support services and also to improve the welfare of the poor, vulnerable and displaced people, especially in the North East, the Federal Government and development partners recognized the need to provide access to social and economic basic services and trauma and psychological support to conflict-affected and returnee households, internally displaced groups and individuals.
